Pretty Shiny Things

Our mornings start somewhere between four and five, when you wake up to feed. I bring you into bed and cradle you in an arm to nurse until you fall back asleep. This is my favorite part of the day, feeling your arms and legs move against me as we both sleep for a few more hours.
I leave you in bed with your dad and I get us ready for the day. Sometimes I hear him singing to you. Sometimes I come in and see you both still asleep, your body in the crook of his. I love witnessing this special time between the two of you. I love knowing it’s the favorite part of your day.
